Active Shooter Virtual Seminar in Partnership with JetBlue
The active shooter phenomenon in America has grown to very troubling proportions. The number of incidents in this past year serves as a stark reminder that much still needs to be done in educating our kids on active shooter preparedness. As part of JetBlue’s Corporate Social Responsibility initiative, they have created a 45-minute school violence/active shooter response training program. Through awareness and personal safety education, JetBlue endeavors to make schools once again safe places for children to learn, grow and flourish.
Much of this training is led via video by a remarkable, young woman named Kristina Anderson. Kristina is a survivor of the 2007 Virginia Tech shooting. On that fateful April morning, 12 of the 32 people who lost their lives were inside Kristina’s own classroom. Kristina herself was shot three times. Since her recovery, Kristina has dedicated her life to educating students on violence prevention and school safety through her non-profit, The Koshka Foundation for Safe Schools.
